Rotors

Progressive cavity pumps consist of two components: The rotor and the stator. The term rotor refers to the metal shaft inside the rubber tube, the stator.

The rotation of the rotor creates a powerful suction effect that pulls the material into the cavities of the stator. It is important that the shape of the rotor matches the geometry of the stator precisely. We therefor recommend precisely drilled high alloy tool steel rotors.

We also carry more economical cast iron rotors for several models. Cast iron can be an adequate option, but do keep in mind that rotor heads are more likely to break off with cast iron rotors.

Here we list our most popular rotors. Search our rotor stator sets if you are looking for the accompanying stators. Don't see what you need? Contact us, and our sales team will be happy to find a solution that fits your needs.

The rotors are organised by stator diameter.

Rotors for Plaster, Screed & Mortar Pumps - Get the Right Performance Every Time

At Putzparts, we provide a comprehensive selection of high-performance rotors tailored to meet the diverse needs of the construction industry. Whether you're using a plaster machine, screed pump, or mortar sprayer, choosing the right rotor ensures that your equipment operates smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively over the long term. With over 25 years of experience in supplying precision-engineered parts, our focus is on minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency for businesses like yours.

Not Sure Which Pump Rotor Fits Your Machine?

The Impact of Choosing the Right Rotor for Your Pump

Selecting the correct rotor is essential to maintaining optimal pump performance. A wrong fit, material mismatch, or improper pitch can lead to reduced efficiency, increased wear, and costly repairs. Here's how the right rotor can prevent common operational issues:

  • Wrong Fit = Increased pressure loss, more vibrations, and accelerated wear on pump components
  • Wrong Material = More frequent rotor replacements and higher maintenance costs
  • Incorrect Pitch = Inefficient flow and wasted time, reducing overall productivity

With our expertise in supplying rotors for top brands like Putzmeister, PFT, M-Tec, and Ülzener, we’re able to help you find the perfect match for your needs. If you know your rotor model (e.g., D6-3, 2L6, R7-1.5), you can easily find it in the grid above.

If you are not sure which one you need, reach out to us with your pump model, and our team will get back to you with the best solution within one business day.

Key Considerations When Selecting Your Rotor

Compatibility is Key for Long-Term Performance

The rotor’s size and pitch are crucial to ensuring that your pump operates at peak efficiency. Even slight mismatches can lead to pressure loss and pump inefficiencies, which negatively affect overall performance and operational costs.

Pro Tip: Always double-check pump specifications. If you’re uncertain, we’ll help you identify the best rotor for your machine.

Material Selection Matters for Wear Resistance

Different materials require different rotor designs. Abrasive mixes like screed and mortar demand a rotor with enhanced durability, while plaster requires a smoother profile to ensure consistent flow and minimal wear.

Pro Tip: Let us know what materials you're working with, and we’ll guide you to the rotor that delivers the longest service life in your application.

Match Your Rotor with the Right Stator

For optimal performance and durability, always consider replacing both the rotor and stator at the same time. A worn stator can undermine the efficiency of your new rotor, leading to poor performance and increased wear on both components.

Pro Tip: Pair your rotor replacement with a new stator to maintain consistent pressure and flow over the long term.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rotors

How do I know which rotor fits my pump model?

Check the rotor code printed on your pump or in the manual. Rotor sizes and pitches vary by machine, and even small differences can affect performance. Ensuring you select the correct rotor helps avoid pressure loss and premature wear.

Pro Tip: Verify the rotor code before ordering. If you’re unsure, we can help you find the exact match.

How long will a rotor last?

Rotor lifespan depends on the material being pumped, pump speed, and operating conditions. Matching the right rotor to your job can extend its life significantly.Pro Tip: Proper rotor selection helps minimize maintenance and ensures longer intervals between replacements.

Does rotor pitch really affect performance?

Yes, the rotor's pitch affects the material flow and pressure characteristics of your pump. Using the wrong pitch can lead to inconsistent pressure, inefficiencies, and operational issues.Pro Tip: Choose a pitch that aligns with your pump’s specifications for optimal output.

Will a worn rotor affect my stator performance?

Yes, a worn rotor changes the seal with the stator, increasing wear on the rubber and causing pressure losses. A worn rotor paired with a worn stator can significantly reduce system efficiency.
Pro Tip: If performance has dropped noticeably, it’s often better to replace both parts at once for optimal efficiency.

8. What’s the difference between rotor finishes and coatings? For harsher jobs, such as fibrous or highly abrasive mixes, buyers often prefer rotors with hardened finishes or treated surfaces (like chrome plating) for increased wear resistance.Pro Tip: Ask about surface treatment, or opt for rotors built specifically for abrasive environments to extend service life.

What material should my rotor be made of?

The materials you're pumping play a major role in rotor selection. Harder mixes like screed and mortar require more robust rotors, while plaster demands a smoother rotor for steady, consistent flow.Pro Tip: Share what materials you’re handling, and we’ll recommend the most durable rotor for your needs.

Should I replace the rotor and stator at the same time?

Replacing both parts at the same time is often recommended. A worn stator can compromise the efficiency of a new rotor, reducing performance and increasing the risk of premature wear.Pro Tip: If you're replacing your rotor, it's best to replace the stator to maintain consistent pressure and performance.

Can I assess rotor wear before deciding to replace?

Yes, rotor wear can often be assessed visually. Look for signs such as rounded edges, uneven surfaces, or pitting. If you notice a loss of pressure or fluctuating flow, it’s likely time for a replacement.Pro Tip: Regularly inspect your rotor for wear patterns to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
